Summary

Mossmark does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your document contents or personal data with the developer. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated backend.

Documents and local processing

Documents you create or open are processed on your device. Mossmark does not upload document contents to a developer server. Files remain in the app container or in a location you select through Apple’s Files and document interfaces.

If you choose iCloud Drive or another third-party file provider, that provider may sync or process files under its own terms and privacy policy. Mossmark does not control those services.

Photos, images, and file access

Mossmark accesses a photo or file only when you initiate an import or selection through Apple’s system interface. Selected images may be copied into a local folder beside your Markdown document so the document can reference them with a portable relative path.

Local settings and reading history

Preferences, usage thresholds for optional prompts, recently opened document references, and reading positions may be stored locally on your device. They are used to provide app settings and restore your reading experience, and are not sent to the developer.

Apple services

The optional consumable tip uses Apple StoreKit. Purchase processing is handled by Apple. Apple may provide the developer with standard transaction, financial, and sales reporting information under Apple’s terms, but Mossmark does not receive your document contents through StoreKit.

Mossmark may also use Apple’s system review prompt. Any interaction with the App Store is governed by Apple’s privacy practices.

Third-party components

Mossmark includes open-source components bundled with the app to render and edit Markdown locally. They are not configured by Mossmark to send analytics or document contents to the developer.

Retention and deletion

Because Mossmark does not maintain developer-operated user accounts or document storage, there is no server-side Mossmark account or document record to delete. You can delete documents using Mossmark or the Files app. Removing the app deletes data in its app container; documents stored in other locations remain until you delete them from those locations.

Changes to this policy

If Mossmark’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before or when the change is released, as appropriate.
